Gordon Cowan

Most people who know me would say I was entrepreneurial, demonstrate Initiative and have an ability to adapt, reasonably creative, have an ability to bear uncertainty, can manage and organise, good motivator, risk taker, highly committed but don’t like people telling me what to do, quick decision maker, honest broker, driven, relentless, good with people and build strong business relationships, loves to close deals, values the journey and a God fearing, loyal, family man.

For me, the most important is my purpose. Why am I here and what am I doing to make a difference? Surely life cant just be about buying more stuff, bigger house, bigger car and making more money! Love a passion project, believe in the importance of community and seeing others succeed and reach new heights. I am extremely blessed to have a great, patient and long-suffering entrepreneur’s wife who has supported me throughout my journey and 4 amazing kids that make me proud and yet keep me humble.

I have had a great journey to date, opening up distribution in 8 European countries in my 20’s for a record company, was a professional musician for 6 years, I have lost everything in business and gained it all back again x100, I have bought and sold companies, sat on government boards, plc boards, NGO’s and various charities. I have helped build and opened a maternity hospital in Sudan, helped fund a 600 women empowerment project in Ghana and have helped build schools for uneducated gypsies in Romania.

At 58, so why do I still believe my best years are still ahead of me? Only God himself knows but I am up for the challenge and still prescribe to Mario Andretti’s ‘If everything seems under control, you’re not going fast enough!’ Always happy to connect and help if I can, don’t like takers and users. Let me leave you with this thought; There are 2 important days in your life…. the day you are born and the day you discover the reason why? Go find your why and give it all you’ve got!
